I guess we can all start ripping on the pudlians now, too...

Gerrard: "We must spend big"

So fanboy favorite Stevie Gerrard says that Liverpool needs to start spending some serious cash in order to be competitive. I'm going to get my sneering face and jeering tone warmed up right now so that next time I hear about Chelsea buying success I can respond in kind. Heh...

But we wouldn't want them to win, because then our friends would have to find someone else to root for.

I'm for Drogba and Mourinho to Inter, with Materazzi to Liverpool. Riise needs help back there after all.

Did you even read the article? All he is saying is that we need to actually spend SOME money in the SUMMER, not the winter, after the owners realize that they needed to spend some money on players. Every team has to spend some money to get players. 'Spending Big' for Liverpool and 'Spending Big' for Chelsea are two different meanings and you know it. Torres is hands down the most expensive player Liverpool has ever purchased for something around 26 million pounds, which is as standard amount Chelsea pays for multiple players of that cost to come to their side (refer to Ballack AND Shevy coming to Chelsea in the same year, costing around 70 million for both.

Drogba is NOT going to Inter, and I doubt Jose will either. Inter isn't evil enough for Jose. He needs to be at AC Milan, Juventus, or something homo like that. Riise will probably go to Celtic, and would be the best player there.

Well if Gerrard is serious about spending enough to become "realistic title contendors" premiership, then you also know what he meant by that.
And Rafa is going to need all the cash he can get: enough to acquire the talent to be a contendor, and a buffer to absorb the fact that he is an average domestic manager.

Let it be know that Josh said Drogba and Mourinho going to Inter may be a dealbreaker (could you imagine Drogba and Materazzi on the pitch at the same time?). Jose will not be at AC, which ups the odds that he will end up at Inter or Barca.
